Monel404 (UNS N04404) Material Properties

The permeability of alloy 404 (measured at 27°F and a field strength of 0.5 Oersted) will not exceed 1.1. Since its low magnetic permeability is not significantly affected by machining and fabrication, this alloy is particularly suitable for electronic parts.
In addition, most of the strength of the 404 alloy remains unchanged at the degassing temperature. Its thermal expansion characteristics are very close to those of many other alloys, allowing negligible deformation when firing clad metal tubes.
MONEL Nickel Copper Alloy MONEL404 (UNS N04404) is primarily used in professional electrical and electronic applications. The composition of MONEL 404 alloy has been carefully tuned to provide a very low Curie temperature, low permeability and good brazing properties.

Monel404 Material Properties

Monel 404 alloy is a single-phase solid solution Ni-Cu alloy with good corrosion resistance in many media environments. It has good corrosion resistance from a slightly oxidizing medium environment to a neutral environment and then to a suitable reducing environment.

Application Areas Of Monel404 Material

Monel 404 is mainly used in chemical petrochemical and marine development fields. It can be used to manufacture various heat exchange equipment, boiler feed water heaters, petroleum and chemical pipelines, vessels, towers, tanks, valves, pumps, reactors, shafts, etc.
1. Power station water supply and steam generator piping system;
2. The main part of the heater and evaporator of the salt factory;
3. Alkylation unit of sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid;
4. Industrial heat exchanger;
5. Composite plate in crude oil distillation unit;
6. Wave shields for offshore installations;
7. Shafts of propellers and pumps in seawater systems;
8. Uranium and isotope separation systems in nuclear fuel production;
9. Pumps and valves in hydrocarbon chlorination production;
10. MEA reboiler piping.
